Power BI /Data Analyst
Cape Town Based
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards, reports, and paginated reports.
- Query existing Lakehouse tables using SQL for analysis purposes.
- Apply Row-Level Security (RLS) to ensure proper data access.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand reporting requirements.
- Ensure report accuracy and optimize performance.
- Analyze data and deliver actionable insights to support decision-making.
- Follow best practices in Power BI design and development.
- Data Validation and Quality Checks
- Document dashboards, datasets, and calculations to support maintainability.
- Follow best practices in Power BI design and development, including visualization and UX/UI standards
Required Skills
- Power BI: DAX, Power Query, data modeling, and paginated reports.
- SQL: Strong skills in querying existing datasets.
- Analytical ability: Interpret data and communicate findings effectively.
- Performance optimization: Knowledge of techniques to improve report speed.
- Good communication skills for presenting results.
Advantageous Skills
- Microsoft Fabric: Lakehouses, OneLake, Direct Lake mode.
- Familiarity with Delta tables and Power BI integration.
- Basic knowledge of Power Automate for workflow automation.
